COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Antelope Valley Pitcher Gives Up 17 Hits, Wins

Ricky Dominguez (4-1) yielded 17 hits--including seven doubles and a triple--but pitched a complete game in Antelope Valley’s 12-11 win over Rio Hondo in a Foothill Conference game Tuesday at Antelope Valley.

Jeff Bowne was two for three for Antelope Valley (8-3, 2-1 in Foothill Conference play). Ryan Branch was three for five and Eric Cole hit a three-run home run.

Oxnard 7, Moorpark 3--Adam Basua’s three-run home run in the seventh inning enabled Oxnard to win a Western State Conference game at Moorpark.

Right-hander Ryan Glass (1-0) pitched 8 1/3 innings to earn the win in his first start. Jim Seguine and Matt Anderson each had two hits for Oxnard (5-9, 2-2).

Valley 5, Canyons 2--Shea Nabi of Valley (4-10-1, 2-2) gave up six hits and struck out four in the first seven innings in a WSC game at Canyons.

David Stephenson had two hits, a run batted in and a run scored for Valley (4-10-1, 2-2).

Jim Traylor was three for four for Canyons (5-6, 1-2) and J.T. Billingslea and John Davis each hit solo home runs.

Pierce 9, Santa Monica 3--Robert Vazquez’s two-run homer with two out in the fifth inning broke open a 2-1 game and lifted host Pierce (6-7, 2-2) to a WSC win.
