PORT HUENEME : Police Investigate Drive-By Shooting
Port Hueneme police are investigating a drive-by shooting in which several rounds were fired into an occupied apartment, authorities said Tuesday.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred about 5:35 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of East Clara Street. Witnesses told police that they saw a red car speed away after the shots were fired, said Sgt. Jerry Beck.
Several bullets passed through the apartment’s exterior wall into the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. The occupants, Bryan Davies, 29, and Paul Mitchell, 22, were sitting on the living room floor watching TV, Beck said.
Investigators said they do not believe that the attack was gang-related. Davies told police that he believes that the shooting was directed at him, Beck said.
Investigators have identified a suspect, but no arrests have been made, police said.
