Madeline Rides to the Rescue in New Golden Book Video

Madeline, Ludwig, Bemelmans’ endearing children’s book heroine, has been around for almost half a century, but her ageless charm is evident in an effervescent new holiday Golden Book Video.

In “Madeline and the Easter Bonnet,” the little French girl designs an Easter hat for Bon-Bon the milk-wagon horse, who’s had the blues over her old tattered chapeau. The unusual hat, complete with miniature Eiffel Tower, causes a stir when it is whisked into a fashionable shop by an errant breeze, but Bon-Bon is so desolate over its loss that she refuses to make her Paris deliveries. Madeline and friends save the day, of course, and are the sensation of an Easter fashion show, too. Golden Book Video. $12.95.

Morphin Madness: OK, OK, we hate to encourage this, but for the legion of hard-core fans of Fox Television’s “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” out there who can’t get enough of their karate-chopping superheroes and Rita Repulsa, the laughable lip-syncing villainess, look for the five-part “Green Ranger” series on home video, starting Wednesday.
