Big Baseball Tournaments on Deck
The top baseball teams in Orange County, and a few from around the country, will compete in five Easter week tournaments, beginning Saturday.
Capistrano Valley, ranked No. 1 in the county, and Huntington Beach, ranked fourth, will play in the first round of the Dole Big West tournament on Saturday. The tournament, based in Irvine, runs through Thursday.

Baseball tournament--A story in Friday’s Times and a schedule Saturday gave incorrect dates for the Dole Big West high school baseball tournament in Irvine. The tournament will begin April 4 and run through the championship game April 7.
El Dorado, Mater Dei and Troy, all among the top 10 teams in the county, begin play Monday in the Upper Deck tournament. The tournament also features 10 teams from around the nation, including San Diego Mission Bay and San Diego Rancho Bernardo.
The West Anaheim Lions tournament, Santa Ana Easter tournament and Pride of the Coast tournament--the three oldest tournaments in the county--begin Saturday.
