FULLERTON : Heritage Oak to Add 7th and 8th Grades
Heritage Oak Private Elementary School is adding a middle school to its facility because of parent demand, school officials have announced.
Beginning in September, seventh-graders will be admitted to the school, and in 1995, an eighth grade will be added, said Heritage Oak Executive Director Phylis Cygan.
The new middle school’s curriculum will emphasize math, language arts, science and French. In addition, music, art and public speaking courses will be offered along with classes on leadership skills and good deportment, Cygan said.
Parents “wanted their kids in a school like this before going to high school without having to go to public schools for middle school,” she said.
There are 165 students in the kindergarten-through-sixth-grade school, at 1620 N. Placentia Ave. About 15 seventh-graders are expected to be added to the school in September, Cygan said.
