Baldwin Hills : Walkathon to Raise Scholarship Funds
The United Negro College Fund is sponsoring a walkathon May 21 to raise money for college scholarships.
The 4.5-mile route will start at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and proceed west on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Rodeo Road, north on La Brea Avenue to Jefferson Boulevard, east on Jefferson to Crenshaw Boulevard, and south on Crenshaw back to the plaza.
Prizes and trophies will be given to the participant who collects the most in paid pledges, to team captains and to those who raise $1,500 or more. Participants will receive T-shirts for raising at least $50.
Registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. May 21. The walkathon will begin at 8:30 a.m.
