Outlook: Santa Barbara has won six consecutive team titles. The Dons finished the season undefeated despite the loss of Alex Decret, who graduated after last season. Decret won the 1993 Southern Section singles championship and gave the Dons their only singles victories in their 11-7 victory over Peninsula in last season’s team final. Santa Barbara’s No. 1 singles player, Nathan Jackmon, was top seeded in the singles tournament but was upset by Temple City’s Sandy Gentile, 0-6, 7-5, 6-1, in the semifinals Saturday. Santa Barbara’s No. 1 doubles team of Ian Carrera and Jimmy Walker won the boys’ doubles championship at Ojai, but were upset by Jason Meyers and Robbie Wilkins of University, 6-2, 6-2, Friday, in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section doubles tournament. In Division III, two familiar teams return to the final. Before last year, Pasadena Poly and Brentwood had met in the final in four consecutive years. Pasadena Poly defeated Brentwood for the title in 1989, ’91 and ‘92; Brentwood beat Pasadena Poly for the championship in ’90.
