Share

Community groups and residents are invited to participate in making the official Mission Viejo History Book.

The project is being organized by the city’s historical society and will encompass aspects of Mission Viejo life.

Organizations can submit photos and information about their groups, and the submissions must be on official forms available at City Hall and the Mission Viejo Library. The forms can be returned to City Hall, 26522 La Alameda. Photos will not be returned.

The historical society is also calling on people who have been community leaders during the past 30 years to offer their views on the city’s growth.

Society members say the book will rely on interviews and photos reflecting the city’s development since the Mission Viejo Co. first built homes in the area in the early 1960s.

The book will have categories such as land development, schools, sports and recreation, religion, local government and business.

Nonprofit service groups in the general South County area that have significant Mission Viejo membership also will be noted in the book.

The historical society will sell copies of the book once it is completed.
