Glendale : Community Center to Open This Month

The Glendale Community Center, aimed at providing youth recreation programs, food and shelter assistance for the economically disadvantaged, is scheduled to open Aug. 29.
Los Angeles Cardinal Roger M. Mahony will be the featured speaker.
Sponsored by the Glendale Department of Community Development and the Housing and Catholic Charities Community Development Corp., the new facility will be at 4322 San Fernando Road.
Among the programs that Catholic Charities is currently involved in is Loaves and Fishes, a food pantry and voucher program.
