Splash Could Start Playoffs Sept. 10
Barring a collapse over the final five games of the season, the Splash will open the first round of the Continental Indoor Soccer League playoffs Sept. 10 at The Pond of Anaheim.
The Splash (17-6) will be host to the first and, if necessary, third games of the quarterfinals, provided it finishes first or second in the Western Division. The Splash leads the San Diego Sockers by 1 1/2 games and holds the tie-breaker edge; it leads third-place Las Vegas by three games and Sacramento by 4 1/2.
If the standings remain the same, the Splash will play Sacramento.
The second game of the quarterfinals will be played Sept. 11, and the decisive game will be on Sept. 14, according to the team.
If the Splash wins the division, it also will be host to the first game of the semifinals, Sept. 17; if it finishes second and plays the first-place team, it will be host to the second game, Sept. 19. The third game will be on Sept. 22.
