Roosevelt 14, Huntington Park 6--Roughrider John Pineda rushed for 116 yards in 23 carries, recovered a fumble and scored both of his team’s touchdowns in Roosevelt’s Southeastern Conference home victory.

Pineda scored on runs of five and eight yards in the first half. The Roughriders gave up 137 yards on defense, while rolling up 190 yards on offense--134 of them on the ground.

Huntington Park quarterback Gabriel Madera connected with wide receiver David Caro for a four-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for the Spartans’ only points.

Huntington Park’s Chris Morales intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter, but he was dragged down at the Roosevelt 20 after a 56-yard return.
