St. Bernard 26, Crespi 24--Brandon Pernell intercepted Crespi quarterback Dave Lins’ pass in the end zone with 40 seconds left to preserve the Vikings’ victory at Pierce College.

St. Bernard (3-2) took a 26-17 lead on a five-yard touchdown run by Pernell with 9:05 remaining. Crespi (2-3) cut the lead to 26-20 on a 32-yard pass from Lins to Wayne Emerson.

Lins completed 22 of 26 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Celts wide receiver Emerson caught nine passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Jeff DeFinney added 12 catches for 89 yards.
