Jacobs, the county leader in pass receptions, kept giving the Comanches chances to pull out a victory Friday against Corona--on defense. Jacobs intercepted three passes in the fourth quarter, but Corona shut down the Canyon offense after the first two. On the third, Jacobs returned the ball 58 yards before going out of bounds at the 31 with five seconds left. “He knew he wasn’t going to score and he was very aware of the clock,” Canyon assistant Loren Shumer said, “so he stepped out of bounds.” Clay Kilbarger then kicked a 46-yard field goal to give Canyon a 6-3 victory. Jacobs shares the county interception lead with five.
