ROUNDUP : CS Northridge Falls to Irvine in Soccer, 5-1

P.J. Polowski scored twice and had an assist to help UC Irvine to a 5-1 victory over Cal State Northridge in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s soccer match Friday at UC Irvine.

Polowski’s goals came in the first half and gave UC Irvine (10-3, 3-1 in MPSF play) a 2-0 lead. Michael Succi, Sean Murphy and Bret Cowan added goals for the Anteaters. Cal State Northridge is 6-6, 0-3.

WATER POLO

Crespi 31, Alemany 3--Mike Scarcelli scored nine goals and Brennan Bakke and David Brea each added seven as the Celts (11-9, 2-2) won easily in Mission League play.

Notre Dame 17, Loyola 16--Giles Rees scored the winning goal with 24 seconds left in double overtime of the Mission League match.

Royal 19, Newbury Park 6--Randy Owens scored seven goals in the Marmonte League match.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Harvard-Westlake d. Marymount, 15-13, 15-5, 15-7--Amanda Selby had eight kills for host Harvard-Westlake (7-3).
