COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Cunningham Sparks Irvine Valley in Soccer

Shannon Cunningham’s second-half goal helped Irvine Valley to a 2-1 victory over Orange Coast in an Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer game Friday at OCC.

Cunningham’s goal, which came 12 minutes into the second half, broke a 1-1 tie for Irvine Valley (7-3-1, 4-2-1). Angela Harding scored the Lasers’ other goal.

Jenna Biefeld scored for Orange Coast (8-2, 5-2).

In another Orange Empire Conference game:

Cypress 6, Rancho Santiago 0--Cypress continued its domination of the conference. Traci Osman had two goals and two assists for the Chargers, which have won 31 consecutive conference games, the last 15 by shutout.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:

Irvine Valley 3, Riverside 1--Tim Wilson scored two goals and Marko Soskic added one for visiting Irvine (5-4-1, 1-2).

Fullerton 1, Cypress 0--D.J. Buckley scored for Fullerton, which improved to 4-4-2, 2-1-1.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Saddleback 18, Palomar 7--Cameron Sharp and Noel Dokken each scored four goals to lead host Saddleback (9-11, 2-1). Brad Casper had five goals for Palomar.

Orange Coast 7, Cypress 4--Shad Wicker scored four goals and Brett McAllister added three for visiting Orange Coast (10-5-1, 2-0).
