GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE FOOTBALL : Summers Leads Pacifica Past Bolsa Grande

GARDEN GROVE — Pacifica scored on its first three possessions and went on to a 42-7 victory over Bolsa Grande in a Garden Grove League game Thursday at Bolsa Grande High.
Ryan Johansen connected with Mike Parsons for a 30-yard touchdown pass and Tommy Summers rushed for touchdowns of 13 and 28 yards on back-to-back plays, all before the second quarter, for Pacifica (3-4, 2-2).
Summers, who sat out the entire second half, rushed for 104 yards in 12 carries to lead the Mariners.
Jeff Burt scored on a three-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter to give Pacifica a 28-0 halftime lead.
The Mariners held Bolsa Grande (1-6, 0-3) to only three yards of offense in the first half and 68 for the game. Pacifica sacked Matador quarterback David Price six times in the game.
Pacifica’s Eric Westlund, who carried 22 times for 71 yards, scored from eight yards out, and punter Mike Fernandez ran 52 yards for another touchdown after dropping the snap to give the Mariners a 42-0 lead late in the fourth quarter.
A banged up Price finally scored for Bolsa Grande with 56 seconds remaining when he scrambled 35 yards for a touchdown.
The loss is the sixth consecutive for Bolsa Grande.
