Cross-country
Vega, from Valencia High, has proved to be one of the most consistent runners in Orange County this fall. She has finished no worse than eighth. Running against the best field to date, Vega was sixth at the Johnie O Moorpark Invitational in a field of 165 runners on Saturday. Vega’s time for 5,000 meters was 20 minutes 7 seconds. With her finish, Vega, an accounting major with a 3.8 grade-point average, qualified for the State meet Nov. 19 in Fresno’s Woodward Park.
Cross-country
Myra Medina
* Irvine Valley, sophomore. Medina finished fourth overall and helped the Lasers to a fourth-place finish at the Johnie O Invitational on Saturday.
