PREP EXTRA / SATURDAY FOOTBALL PULLOUT : Bishop Amat Shuts Down St. Paul, 21-6
Daylon McCutcheon rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns as La Puente Bishop Amat clinched the Del Rey League championship with a 21-6 victory over Santa Fe Springs St. Paul in front of an estimated crowd of 8,000 Friday night at Bishop Amat.
The Lancers (10-0, 5-0), ranked No. 1 by The Times, will be top-seeded in the Southern Section Division I playoffs, which will begin next Friday. Ninth-rated St. Paul (7-3, 2-3) still has wild-card hopes for the playoffs.
Bishop Amat held St. Paul to 107 yards in total offense, including an 80-yard scoring drive late in the game.
