Long Beach Jordan 46, Crespi 21--After suffering a defeat at the hands of Crespi in the first round of last year’s playoffs, host Jordan got revenge.

Jordan (8-3) piled up 628 yards. Junior quarterback Ortege Jenkins threw five touchdown passes in the first half and finished with nine completions in 15 attempts for 279 yards.

Jenkins connected on scoring pass plays of 80, 36, 26, 69 and 43 yards. Running back LeJuan Gibbons rushed for 158 yards in 17 carries and caught two touchdown passes.

Crespi quarterback David Lins completed 14 of 29 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Lins connected with wide receiver Jeff DeFinney on a 23-yard scoring pass in the third quarter for the Celts’ first points.

Lins added scoring passes of 23 and 24 yards to receiver Wayne Emerson, who finished with eight catches for 125 yards. With his 205-yard passing effort, Lins finished the year with 2,088 yards to break the school record for single-season passing yardage set in 1991 by Cody Smith.
