OUTLOOK
Falk believes his team’s strengths are experience and leadership. Scheuerman (14-point average last season) and Carr, both All-Sea View League selections last season, will be asked to provide both. The Tillers have six returning letter winners who have playoff experience. Falk believes that if sophomore point guard Simoes has a fast start, she could have the tools to become a Division I college point guard, something about which the Tillers know quite a lot. Class of ’91 point guard Wanda Sequeira plays the point at San Francisco and Sarah Davis, class of ‘94, is at Long Beach State. One thing that might hurt the Tillers is a late start. Six of their 10 players, including four starters, play for the school’s volleyball team, which reached the Southern Section Division IV quarterfinals before bowing out. This season, the Tillers will rely on size and strength to get back to postseason play, something they’ve done every season since 1974.
