OUTLOOK

Haskell, a former head coach at Savanna and assistant at Trabuco Hills, has experienced success. He guided Savanna to a 16-9 record and the tri-championship of the Orange League in 1991-92, his only season at the school. However, with no returning starters from a team that was last in the Sea View League, well, Haskell isn’t predicting similar results in his first year as the Roadrunners’ leader. “This could be a tough year,” Haskell said. “Scoring will be a real challenge. Most of the kids are up from the lower levels and they didn’t have a lot of success there. This is a team that has a very small margin for error.” Chapman and Frierson should provide some stability at forward. They were among the junior varsity team’s top players. Gallegos, Neang and Ochoa will compete for the starting backcourt jobs. Dreyer is a physical player who should receive many minutes at forward and possibly center. Despite his inexperience, Doung is also in the mix for substantial minutes in the backcourt.
