Paper Ballots

Share

I am a new resident to Southern California, having moved here from New York in September, 1993.

I am consistently amazed and delighted by the many forward looking advancements in this section of the country, not the least of which is the traffic control systems, road repair work, etc. It seems they start and finish many items in one day. And even the recent earthquake did not deter them from repair and reconstruction of the freeways. I applaud you greatly.

Now, will someone please enlighten me . How in this day and age do we still have paper ballots for major elections? I have been voting since 1947 in New York City. I have never used a paper ballot. I am sure they had election machines long before I started voting.

There must be a good reason.
