The Manual Arts basketball team found out the hard way how difficult it is to maintain a No. 1 ranking.
The Toilers, picked as the area’s top team in the preseason, lost that label after one game.
In an unimpressive home opener, the Toilers were outplayed, outhustled and outscored by the Washington Generals, 70-60, Tuesday night in a interconference game.
Washington’s Patrick Blake scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the second half.
Crenshaw transfer Travis Reed had 17 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
Manual Arts guard Darwin Carter chipped in with 16 points.
