Westchester 67, Washington 56--Westchester forward Ben Sanders scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the second half as the Comets won a interconference game Thursday night at Washington.

Tarik Bragg, who scored 12 points, and Javis Young, who had 11, were the other Comets in double figures.

Patrick Blake led Washington with 20 points and Charles Stone added 15.

Locke 56, Bell 51--Coach Reggie Morris, who led Manual Arts to three City 4-A championships in the 1980s, returned to high school coaching in impressive fashion, guiding the Saints to a double overtime victory over Bell in a Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.

Fremont 57, Roosevelt 48--Antonio Hines hit two free throws with 31 seconds remaining in the game to secure the Pathfinders Southeastern Conference game at Roosevelt.

After Fremont went up 38-22 in the third quarter, Roosevelt’s Robert Martinez tipped in a basket to ignite a 10-0 run.

But Dony Wilcher, who spent most of the game in foul trouble, hit a three-point shot to stem the Roughriders’ momentum.

Leon Jones had 13 points to lead Fremont, while Miguel Prado had 14 for Roosevelt.
