Barbaric Hunting
The Times editorial “Coal Canyon Better Off Without Hunting” (Nov. 20) certainly took a milquetoast position with the comment “limiting weapons to bows and arrows . . . decreases the chance of harm to others.”
It may be the “function of Fish and Game to preserve the interest of hunters,” but to preserve the pusillanimous pleasure of a mindless minority of erstwhile Robin Hoods who enjoy riddling animals with arrows is an unconscionable abuse of the wildlife it harbors. Arrows inflict slow, torturous deaths, and no animal should be subjected to such a barbaric method of hunting.
