THOUSAND OAKS : Chamber Seeking Donations for Needy
To assist the needy during the holiday season, the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is accepting donations of food and other necessities at its office in Thousand Oaks.
“It’s the time of year that we need to reflect on all that we have and how little others have,” said Doug Ross, consul general of the chamber’s Diplomat committee, which is directing the annual “Spirit of Giving” campaign.
“Even though many business people are struggling, I’m convinced that there is a lot we can do,” Ross added.
Until Dec. 16, the chamber will accept canned and packaged food, peanut butter and jelly, powdered milk and cooking oils from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 625 W. Hillcrest Drive.
Also in high demand are donations of toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, bathroom tissue and diapers.
On Dec. 19, the donated goods will be delivered to the Manna Distribution Center at 3020 Crescent Way, Thousand Oaks.
