COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Stanford Routs Cal State Fullerton
Bobbi Kelsey scored 21 points and five other Stanford players scored in double figures to lead the fifth-ranked Cardinal to a record-tying 122-80 women’s basketball victory over visiting Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.
Center Koko Lahanas--who made 10 of 16 field-goal attempts and 11 of 12 free throws--scored 31 points for the Titans, who received only one point from their reserves.
Titan guard Shayla Bradshaw scored 20 points and point guard Marissa Frial had 18.
Stanford’s point total tied a school record set last year against Long Beach in a 122-49 victory over the 49ers. Stanford is 4-1. The Titans are 1-3.
In nonconference men’s basketball
Concordia 96, Whittier College 67--Pharoh Jones scored 18 points as the Eagles breezed past Whittier College. Jeff Putnam added 15 points and eight rebounds for Concordia. Whittier’s Justin Snowden had 20 points.
Southern California College 77, American Indian Bible College 60--Joel Kuipers and Kevin Carlson each scored 12 points to lead Southern California College (5-4). Chauncey Woolridge scored 11 points for Southern California College.
In the Pacific Christian Womens’ Invitational
Concordia 86, La Verne 69--Michelle Kravick, tournament most valuable player, scored 33 points to lead Concordia (4-2) in the championship game. Rochelle Aulb paced La Verne with 26 points.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Chapman 70, Redlands 62--Chapman’s Faye Cruz, Melody Earle and Debbie Nilsen each scored 10 points to lead the Panthers (3-3). Sherri Fanger scored 22 points for Redlands (1-5).
