THE NBA : Portland Beats Sacramento Again
Rod Strickland scored 24 points, including a driving layup with 36 seconds to play, as the Portland Trail Blazers extended their home winning streak against the Sacramento Kings to 22 games Sunday night with a 93-88 victory at Portland.
Strickland’s layup came off a give-and-go with Clyde Drexler and gave Portland a 92-88 lead.
The Kings missed three shots on their next possession and Drexler added a free throw to give Portland its third consecutive victory.
The loss ended a four-game winning streak for the Kings, their longest since 1992.
The Kings have not won in Portland since January 1986.
