ROUNDUP : Mosley Lifts Master’s to 5th Win in a Row

James Mosley had 28 points and 10 rebounds to propel Master’s College to a 128-71 victory over American Indian Bible in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Newhall.

Leo Gorauskas added 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Mustangs (7-2), who won their fifth game in a row.

Master’s hit 51 of 82 shots (62.2%) from the field, including 14 of 27 from three-point range.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Westlake 71, Camarillo 59--Matt Smiley scored nine of his 19 points in the third quarter to spark the Warriors (4-1) in a Marmonte League opener. Westlake outscored Camarillo (2-3) in the third quarter, 17-9, to open a 10-point lead.

Crescenta Valley 77, Poly 48--Brock Jacobsen had 23 points and Blake Jacobson 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Falcons in the second round of their tournament.

Montclair Prep 59, Crossroads 55--Jeff Benson’s layup gave the host Mounties a 56-55 lead with two minutes to play and his three-point shot gave them their final margin of victory in the nonleague game.

Birmingham 55, Marshall 40--Scott James and David Redmond scored 12 points each for Birmingham (3-3) in the first-round game of the Hamilton tournament.

Glendale 82, Burroughs 33--The Dynamiters held Burroughs (3-4) to seven points in the first half of the nonleague game at Glendale. Arnae Boghossian led Glendale (4-3) with 21 points, 13 in the first half.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Harvard-Westlake 1, South Pasadena 0--Brian Angelini scored 10 minutes into the match and goalie Mike Young made four saves to send Harvard-Westlake (5-0-1) into tonight’s championship final at the La Canada tournament.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Simi Valley 2, Thousand Oaks 1--Monica Gerardo and Natalie Shaw scored for the Pioneers (3-0-2) in a Marmonte League opener at Simi Valley.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Calabasas 46, Mary Star 19--The Coyotes advanced to the championship game of the Marlborough tournament behind Melissa Krolik’s 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Chaminade 44, La Reina 43--La Reina rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit behind Shane Anderson, who had 29 points, 21 rebounds and six steals, but the Regents fell at Thousand Oaks.
