In other Costa Mesa tournament games:

Woodbridge 87, Aliso Niguel 18--Krissy Duperron had a triple-double, 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals, for top-ranked and undefeated Woodbridge in first round action. Erin Stovall had 15 points for the Warriors (10-0).

Montebello Schurr 42, Westminster 40--Westminster (6-5) trailed by eight in the fourth quarter, then rallied to make it close late in the game.

The Lions could have tied the score with one second left in the game, but Lan Erickson missed the front end of a one-and-one situation. Amber Farroux scored a game-high 16 points for Westminster.

Capistrano Valley 68, North Torrance JV 29--Jennifer Garrett scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Capistrano Valley (7-2).

Capistrano Valley freshman Liz Fleming had a career-high 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

San Luis Obispo 51, Tustin 48--Tustin came within one point late in the game, but missed a shot with less than 19 seconds left. The Tillers committed 33 turnovers in the game, 14 in the first quarter.

Allison Carr scored 18 points and blocked five shots for Tustin (6-6). Katie Scheuerman had 13 points and Janna Needham had 12 rebounds for the Tillers.

Dana Hills 43, Arroyo Grande 32--Only four players scored in the victory for Dana Hills (4-8). Jennifer Hass scored a game-high 13 points, Sara Herkenhoff had 11 points and 11 rebounds, Jamie Fowler scored 10 points and Erika Tillman nine.

In the Cerritos Gahr tournament:

Esperanza 77, Downey Pius X 23--Senior Kim Hayashi tied Jodi Howard’s school record for three-point baskets in a game (set last season) with four, and finished with a game-high 14 points, to put Esperanza (11-1) into tonight’s second-round game against Gahr.

Lyndsay Brown had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Diane Severinsen had 12 points for Esperanza.
