Many Deserve Thanks for Quake Cleanup
Almost a year after the Jan. 17 Northridge earthquake and recovery continues. Every day new piles of rubble appear on Valley streets as demolition and rebuilding proceed.
The FEMA-sponsored program of earthquake-related debris removal has been a great success in restoring our neighborhoods. Many thanks are owed to the tireless workers--some with trucks and heavy equipment and some with shovels--who are constantly cleaning up the mess.
