PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Erickson Hires More Assistants
New Seattle Seahawk Coach Dennis Erickson didn’t waste any time on his first official day on the job.
Erickson hired two Seahawk assistant coaches who were fired along with Coach Tom Flores on Dec. 29: defensive line coach Tommy Brasher and running backs coach Clarence Shelmon.
Erickson said he will hire two more defensive assistant coaches.
Erickson already hired eight new assistants and is bringing six University of Miami assistants with him.

Monte Kiffin, inside linebackers coach for the Minnesota Vikings, is moving to the New Orleans Saints as defensive coordinator. Kiffin, an NFL assistant for 12 seasons, replaces Steve Sidwell, fired Dec. 28 by Coach Jim Mora after the Saints’ 7-9 season.
