Tustin 74, El Dorado 64--Despite being clearly outhustled by a scrappy El Dorado team in the first half, top-seeded Tustin regrouped in the second.

Tustin (26-1), which won its 17th consecutive game, got clutch performances from guards Doug Gottlieb and Robert Griffin to rally past El Dorado, which led for most of the first half.

Gottlieb, who scored 17 of Tustin’s 20 points in the second quarter, finished with 25 points, 10 assists and four steals. He hit nine of his 13 field goals. Griffin, a junior, scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half. Center David Lalazarian had 20 points and nine rebounds.

A basket by Lalazarian gave Tustin a 43-42 lead with 2:53 left in the third quarter and it never trailed again. El Dorado crept to within five points three times in the fourth quarter, but each time Tustin was able to stop the threats with baskets and free throws by Gottlieb, Griffin and Lalazarian.

Dustin Miller finished with 16 points and Justin Kasper had 15 for El Dorado, which ended at 19-9.
