Key workers and volunteers were honored recently for their contributions to the 1994 Ventura County Fair.

At its annual awards dinner, the fair’s board of directors presented Jan Janikowski of Ventura with the Western Fairs Assn. Blue Ribbon Award, the county fair’s highest honor.

Janikowski has served as superintendent for the fair’s horse shows since 1985, expanding the events and making the department one of the best-known in the state.
