Times Mirror Names 2 Senior Vice Presidents

Ann E. Dilworth and Tom Unterman have been elected senior vice presidents of Times Mirror Co., the Los Angeles-based information company said Thursday.

Dilworth, 48, was also elected president of Times Mirror Consumer Media. She is responsible for Times Mirror’s magazine and consumer book publishing companies and new ventures in multimedia software and television programming. Prior to this appointment, she was group vice president for new consumer media.

Unterman, 50, will continue to serve as general counsel. He is responsible for Times Mirror’s legal and corporate auditing departments. Unterman supervised the company’s recent merger of its cable television operations with Cox Communications Inc. Prior to this appointment, he was vice president and general counsel.

Dilworth and Unterman will continue to report to Curtis A. Hessler, Times Mirror executive vice president, who supervises the company’s professional information and consumer media groups and is responsible for the corporate staff.

Dilworth joined the company in 1992 as vice president, international, and assistant to the chairman. She previously was president, Addison-Wesley General & International Publishing Co.

Unterman joined Times Mirror in 1992 as vice president and general counsel. He previously was a senior partner in the Los Angeles office of Morrison & Foerster.

Times Mirror publishes the Los Angeles Times, Newsday and New York Newsday and other newspapers, as well as books, magazines, information and educational products and multimedia software.
