PREP ROUNDUP : Johnson Leads Tritons in Nonleague Golf
Greg Johnson was the medalist, shooting a one-under-par 35, to lead San Clemente over Vista, 197-248, in a nonleague golf match Thursday at the Pacific Golf Club in San Clemente.
Tom Larsen finished second for San Clemente (1-1) with 37.
In other nonleague golf:
Mater Dei 199, Villa Park 220--Scott Jordan shot a one-under-par 35 to lead Mater Dei (1-1). Monarch Bret Parker had the second-best score, shooting four over par.
University 210, Fountain Valley 211--Fountain Valley’s Ben Turner had a hole-in-one on Rancho San Joaquin’s second hole, a 140-yard, par-three. Bill Bodensteiner shot a two-over-par 38 for University (2-1).
In nonleague boys’ track and field:
El Modena 78, University 48--Sepher Sharifi of University (0-1) was the only multiple winner, taking the shot put (50 feet 7 inches) and discus (164-1).
