Facts and Figures: Canyon returns four players who hit better than .400, Eric Valent (.426), Darren Chandler (.411), Greg Jacobs and Scott Redfox (.403). Valent and Chandler were first-team all-league selections and Redfox was named second team. . . . Foothill’s Bill Reinsch hit .378, had a 5-4 record and was a second-team all-league selection. . . . Villa Park’s Sean McMahon hit .410 and was a first-team all-league selection. . . . Orange’s David Matranga was a first-team all-league pick. . . . Orange’s Art Bell, Villa Park’s Randy Case, Santa Ana Valley’s Johnny Garcia and Foothill’s Ross Parkin were second-team all-league selections.

Highlights: Canyon averaged 8.5 runs and ran away with the league title. The Comanches were ranked seventh in the final Orange County poll. . . . Canyon’s Casey Wilson and Villa Park’s Matt Brady were co-players of the year. . . . Canyon lost to Temecula Valley, 5-2, in the Division II quarterfinals. . . . Villa Park lost to Valencia, 10-3, and Foothill lost to top-seeded Redondo Beach Redondo Union, 8-3, in the first round.
