EL SERENO : Update Due on 710 Freeway Extension
Residents are invited to a community meeting March 25 at the El Sereno Police Community Center regarding plans to extend the Long Beach (710) Freeway through El Sereno, Alhambra, Pasadena and South Pasadena.
Representatives from the California Transportation Commission and city and state politicians will explain the plans to build a 6.2-mile route linking the San Bernardino (10) and Foothill (210) freeways. The proposed extension, which would cost $600 million to $1 billion, may result in the demolition of 987 homes.
The transportation commission approved the route in September, but further delays are expected with a proposed new study of the project’s environmental impact report.
The meeting at the center, 5150 Huntington Drive, begins at noon.
Information: (213) 222-3177.
