SETH GEORGE
Forward
Santa Margarita, Sr.
Honored for the second year on The Times’ first team, he scored 15 goals and had 19 assists. Was named co-MVP of the Sea View League and will be attending UCLA on a soccer scholarship.
GUSTAV GRATZER
Midfielder
Woodbridge, Sr.
A co-MVP of the Sea View League, Gratzer scored 13 goals and had 12 assists for the Warriors, who were Division III co-champions. Was also a first-team all-section Division III selection.
STEFFEN GREENLY
Defender
Fountain Valley, Sr.
A first-team All-Sunset selection, Greenly also played midfield for the Barons, who lost to Simi Valley Royal in the Division I final. Scored three goals and had seven assists, many of them to Vazquez.
RYAN HAWKINS
Forward
Capistrano Valley, Sr.
The South Coast League MVP and a first-team All-Southern Section Division I pick, Hawkins scored 15 goals and had four assists for the Cougars, who lost to Fountain Valley in the Division I semifinals.
JUSTIN KERR
Forward
Newport Harbor, Jr.
Despite missing five games because of an injury, Kerr still scored a Sea View League-high 21 goals and had seven assists. Had a four-goal game and a three-goal game against arch-rival Corona del Mar.
EDDY LOPEZ
Goalkeeper
Saddleback, Sr.
A first-team All-Golden West League selection, Lopez recorded eight shutouts and gave up more than two goals in a game only once. Also played forward, where he scored six goals and had five assists.
DAVID MOATS
Defender
Woodbridge, Sr.
As a marking back, Moats was a forward’s nightmare. He didn’t give up a goal and surrendered only one assist in the Sea View League, which had three Times’ first-team players. Was a first-team all-league selection.
LALO RODRIGUEZ
Midfielder
Orange, Sr.
A first-team All-Southern Section and All-Century League selection, Rodriguez scored 16 goals and had 11 assists. One of his goals came in sudden death in the second round of the Division II playoffs.
SHAWN SAUNDERS
Defender
Santa Margarita, Sr.
Overlooked as a Sea View League first-team pick, Saunders has signed a letter of intent with Fresno State. Scored nine goals and had four assists for the Eagles, who lost only two of 26 games.
ALESSIO SMITH
Midfielder
Newport Harbor, Sr.
A first-team All-Sea View League selection, Smith scored 12 goals and had 13 assists, many of them to Kerr. One of the more heavily recruited players in the area, Smith will play at Cal State Fullerton next year.
JOEY VAZQUEZ
Forward
Fountain Valley, Jr.
The MVP of the Sunset League, Vazquez scored 19 goals and had 14 assists. Played his best soccer in the playoffs, scoring the winning goal in the semifinal and adding two more in the Division I final.
JON SZCZUKA
Coach of the year
Woodbridge
In his first year, Szczuka took the Warriors to their first playoff berth in seven seasons and then the Division III title. After losing five of its first eight games, Woodbridge went undefeated the rest of the way.

Todd Abdalla
Goalkeeper
Trabuco Hills, Jr.
A second-team all-section Division I and first-team All-South Coast League pick, Abdalla had 101 saves and three shutouts.
Beau Barnhart
Defender
Edison, Sr.
The defensive MVP of the Sunset League and a first-team all-section Division I pick, Barnhart had three goals and an assist.
Travis Clutter
Midfielder
Edison, Sr.
A first-team All-Sunset League selection, Clutter scored nine goals and had four assists for the Chargers.
Mike Jacobs
Forward
Woodbridge, Sr.
Offensive MVP of Division III, Jacobs contributed to all 13 of the Warriors’ playoff goals and finished with 17 goals and 14 assists.
Chon Kantikovit
Midfielder
Santa Margarita, Jr.
A first-team All-Sea View League selection, Kantikovit scored 10 goals and had seven assists for the Eagles.
Juan Lopez
Forward
Anaheim, Sr.
The MVP of the Orange League, Lopez scored 12 goals and had eight assists despite missing nonleague play because of an injury.
Victor Lopez
Defender
Orange, Sr.
Second-team all-section and the Century League defensive MVP, Lopez helped lead Orange to the Division II quarterfinals.
Todd Marcus
Forward
Edison, Jr.
An All-Sunset League selection, Marcus scored 14 goals and had five assists for Edison, a Division I quarterfinalist.
Brian Piesner
Forward
Santa Margarita, Jr.
A first-team All-Sea View League selection, the left-footed Piesner scored 15 goals and had 17 assists for the Eagles.
Jaime Santana
Midfielder
Santa Ana, Sr.
A co-MVP of the Golden West League, Santana also was a first-team all-section Division I pick.
Isaac Ugay
Defender
Brea Olinda, Sr.
The defensive MVP of the Orange League, Ugay also was a first-team all-section Division I selection.
