A memorial is being planned at Windrow Park for former Woodbridge High School baseball star Ryan Lemmon, 19, who was killed in a September traffic accident.

The memorial will include unveiling of a bronze statue by artist Mark Lundine depicting a kneeling baseball player.

The 300-seat stadium at the park will be named the Ryan Lemmon Stadium.

Ryan’s father, Guy Lemmon, said he does not want the memorial to remind people of his son’s tragic death but of the enthusiasm he had for the game.

“I want this to be a symbol of what’s good about baseball,” he said.
