California’s Charlie Wi shot a 5-under-par 67 to win the Pacific 10 Conference golf title Wednesday at Meadow Springs Golf Club in Richland, Wash.

Arizona State’s Scott Johnson entered the day with a two-stroke lead over Wi, who lives in North Hills and played at Westlake High. Johnson, who had led throughout the first three rounds of the 72-hole tournament, shot a closing 74.

Chad Wright of USC, a sophomore from Buena High, finished in a tie for sixth at 290.

Wi’s victory marked the third Pac-10 title in a row for a Valley player. Jason Gore, now attending College of the Canyons, won the championship in 1993 and ’94 while at Arizona.
