Middleweight Fight Tops Marriott Card

A 10-round junior middleweight bout between Young Dick Tiger and Armando Campas is the main event on tonight’s five-fight card in the Grand Ballroom at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills.

Tiger, a former Nigerian champion based in Los Angeles, has a record of 31-11-2 with 22 knockouts. Campas, from Sonora, Mexico, is 13-12-3 with nine knockouts.

Tiger last month lost a decision against Yory Boy Campas at the Grand Olympic Auditorium. He has defeated former world champion Lupe Aquino.

On the undercard, Kent Linthicum of San Diego will make his professional debut against Ricky Stewart (2-0, two KOs) of Los Angeles in a middleweight bout scheduled for four rounds.

Also set to go four rounds are middleweights Steve Hurley (1-1, one KO) of Huntington Beach and Viatcheslav Martyniouk, a Russian making his pro debut.

Raymond Orozco (3-4-1, three KOs) of Baldwin Park will meet former amateur champion Cortez Dean (0-0-1) of Phoenix in a five-round junior lightweight bout.

In a super middleweight bout set for six rounds, Ray (Baby Animal) Villanueva (5-2, three KOs) of Torrance faces Calvin Combs (2-2, one KO) of Lancaster.

First bell is at 7:30 p.m.
