Raiders Release McCallum After Six Seasons With Team
- Share via
The Raiders have released running back Napoleon McCallum, whose 1994 season ended during the first game when he suffered a severe injury to his left leg, including a ruptured artery, against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Raiders will allow McCallum, 31, to continue to use their facilities for rehabilitation.
Asked if he thought McCallum would ever play again, Raider Coach Mike White said, “I would hate to bet against him.”
In six seasons with the Raiders, McCallum carried 223 times for 790 yards and six touchdowns.
