George Foreman Signs HBO Deal: The heavyweight boxing champion signed a non-boxing deal with Time Warner Inc.’s Home Box Office unit that significantly expands his role with the cable network. Sources placed the value at more than $2 million. Foreman, who now works mostly as a commentator for HBO fights, will also become something of a corporate spokesman for HBO, starring in commercials for the network, an infomercial promoting HBO and even making an exercise video. Time Warner Sports President Seth Abraham said Foreman’s present contract expires in October and that the goal of the new deal is “to make George a walking billboard for HBO.”
