Down to one catcher after Mike Piazza went on the disabled list, the Dodgers purchased the contract of minor league catcher Noe Munoz from triple-A Albuquerque on Friday to fill Piazza’s roster spot.

Designated for assignment on April 30, Munoz had been playing in the Mexican League for Reynoso, where he was batting .340 with a home run and 14 RBIs in 17 games.

The Dodgers also recalled pitcher Felix Rodriguez from Albuquerque. Rodriguez was 1-0 with a 1.29 earned-run average and 18 strikeouts in three starts for the Dukes this season.
