Clearing the Air

* I am appalled that our tax dollars are being spent to fix the cars of people who do not keep their cars maintained, and pollute the environment (“Seeking a Pollution Solution,” May 19). Then the government rewards them with $100 to show our appreciation and to let us pay to fix their cars.

Talk about a waste of tax dollars. And they want voters to approve a tax increase because the county doesn’t have enough money. Collect it from air polluters. Fine these people and impound their cars.
