A cat home alone suffered smoke inhalation but was resuscitated by firefighters after an electrical fire Friday caused $175,000 in damage to a Tarzana home at 4915 Casa Drive.

The fire, reported at 10:18 a.m., was extinguished in 20 minutes. Beside the cat, no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no other injuries. The cat was taken by city animal control officers to a shelter for safe-keeping.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said the fire caused an estimated $125,000 in damage to the building and $50,000 to the property inside.
