CAMARILLO : 1 Killed, 1 Injured in Head-On Collision
A Moorpark man was killed early Sunday when his car collided head-on with another car that crossed into oncoming traffic on Santa Rosa Road east of Camarillo, the California Highway Patrol said.
Hector Garabai Tamayo, 31, of Moorpark was eastbound on Santa Rosa Road just west of Gerry Road when a car driven by Natividad Villanueva, 35, of Oxnard crossed into oncoming lanes and the two cars collided. Both men were on their way to work, the CHP said.
Tamayo was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes after the 5:50 a.m. accident, the CHP said. Villanueva was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where he was listed in critical condition.
The cause of the collision is unknown.
