Blaze Chars 100 Acres of Brush
LAKEVIEW —
A brush fire blackened about 100 acres and briefly threatened three houses in the Antelope Valley before being extinguished by county firefighters Thursday, officials said.
The fire started just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Pearblossom Highway and Old Nadeau Road, said County Fire Dispatcher Lawrence Beals. It was doused about two hours later, after coming close to three homes in an unincorporated area near Palmdale.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
