Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan has nominated Sherman Oaks community activist Jeff Brain to the city’s Productivity Commission, which reviews city productivity and work-measurement programs and recommends improvements.

Brain is the chairman of the Ventura Boulevard Specific Plan Review Board, responsible for overseeing a 20-year, $220-million revitalization plan for the Valley’s “Main Street.” He is a former president of the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce and a founding member of the Valley Economic Development Alliance.

Brain ran for City Council this year against Michael Feuer, who won the 5th District race. The Sherman Oaks resident has 16 years of experience in real estate and finance and is a senior vice president at Capital Commercial Real Estate in Encino.
